Backup & Disaster Recovery

Still relying on tape to safeguard your critical information?

Traditionally, backups have been performed to tapes that need to be rotated off-site to ensure that recovery is possible in case of theft, fire, flooding, etc. Unfortunately, there are many factors which make tape backups unreliable. Tape technology involves friction of tapes against tape heads; over time this damages the tape drive and the tapes wear out. The tapes must be physically changed every night and rotated off-site, which relies on people (who get distracted, may not get properly trained during employee turnover, or can get sick or go on vacation) to perform this task.

There is a Better Way!

Subscribers to our Total Protection Service receive an additional separate server to which hourly backups occur. Ongoing changes to the data are backed up to the local server, as well as to a remote data center, over your existing Internet connection. This allows for recovery in case of disaster. The initial “seeding” of the backup data is done to a separate hard drive which is then delivered to the remote data center so that the initial backup does not consume too much of your precious Internet bandwidth. The server can also act as a “fail-over server” if needed. All of your data is encrypted so that it cannot be accessed by unauthorized parties.

When you need to restore data, your backup and disaster recovery system is the most important system in your company. You need a solution that just works. No excuses.
